Dawoodi Bohra community members from around the world participated in the first edition of International Professionals’ Convention 2022 on 21st May. Nearly 120 participants registered for the first session titled ‘Quest for Excellence’ which included topics on continual learning, professionalism and cybersecurity.
The convention is being held virtually and will be a unique series of interactive learning sessions designed to build a sustainable framework for continual learning. Going beyond talks, the convention also aims to build a global think tank to publish white papers that will suggest solutions to burning issues that impact daily life and work.
“We want this to be a launch pad for Dawoodi Bohra professionals across the globe to explore new collaborations, convert challenges into opportunities, upskill through continual education and create a bright future for the community” said Huzefa Nakhoda, one of the organizers.
The convention will span 10 weeks with two sessions each weekend. The topics up for discussion will range from Cybersecurity, AI & robotics to innovation in Business, Emotional quotient and Governance in Organization. The panel of speakers include industry experts and professionals from diverse backgrounds.
Parvez Diwan is director of Mumbai based Matrix3D Infocom Private Ltd, who spoke on the topic ‘Disrupt or be disrupted’ – when and why one should innovate. Jafar Qutbi, an attendee reflected on the talk, saying “Parvez gave a crisp presentation where, in a nutshell, he provided the rationale to get over disruption by innovating”.
The convention sets an example of the Dawoodi Bohra community’s entrepreneurial zest, where community members will engage and learn from each other and grow both individually and as a community. It is being organized by Fakhri Professionals, a forum for Dawoodi Bohra professionals based in the UAE in association with Tijarat Rabiha, Aljamea-tus-Saifiyah, BS Health Consultancy and ISCEA.
