Dubai’s “Career Options 1445|2024” Opens Doors for Dawoodi Bohra Youth

The Dawoodi Bohra community’s commitment to education and career development was on full display at Career Options 1445|2024, held at the Dubai Dawoodi Bohras’ Burhani Complex. Themed “Career Exploration to Unlock Your True Potential,” a diverse crowd of eager students explored a multitude of career paths.

The event offered a range of activities designed to guide and inspire the next generation. Highlights included an aptitude test to help attendees identify their strengths, one-on-one counselling sessions with experts from a range of industries, internship opportunities, and insightful career guidance talks. Over 400 attendees participated, taking advantage of 60 one-on-one counseling sessions and numerous career guidance talks. By the end, many students had registered for aptitude tests, and 14 had been interviewed for internships.

Along with Al Jamea tus Saifiyah, the premiere educational institute of the Dawoodi Bohra community, and Mahad uz Zahra, which helps individuals memorise the Holy Quran, eleven universities provided their expertise and resources. Notable educational institutions such as Amity University, American University of Sharjah, Ajman University, BITS Pilani Dubai, Curtin University, Dubai College of Tourism, Dubai Pharmacy College for Girls, RIT Dubai, SP Jain School of Global Management, Manipal Academy of Higher Education, and Middlesex University Dubai showcased their programs and engaged with prospective students. Additionally, attendees benefited from a free dental check-up service courtesy of Ajman University.

Medha Singh, Admissions Coordinator of SP Jain School of Global Management, remarked, “It was an excellent occasion, and we loved being a part of it. I recommend you hold this every six months.”

Career Options 1445|2024 featured four seminar rooms hosted by industry experts providing key insights on the future of the workplace and networking opportunities. The occasion’s success was evident in the bustling university stalls and packed talk sessions. The illustrious list of speakers included Prabhdeep Singh Baweja, Regional Director, MEA, at The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India; Dr Zafar Husain, Dean of the College of Business at Al Ain University; Jeff Strachan, Associate Vice President at Dubai College of Tourism; and Daniel Adkins, Group CEO of Transnational Academic Group Middle East, education management service providers to Curtin University Dubai.

The summer internship initiative featured 11 companies who interviewed prospective interns on the spot.  Representatives from also provided students with key tips on landing the right internship.  Vice President of Human Resources and Administration at Sobha Modular, Nuruddin Jethajiwala, said, “My heartiest congratulations on hosting such a fantastic Career Options 2024.  I spoke to quite a few people and everyone was all praise for it.  It was very well organized featuring some of the best institutions in the UAE. Kudos to you and the team.”

Career Options 1445|2024 offered a comprehensive platform for youth empowerment and professional growth. It successfully bridged the gap between education and practical application. Attendees left with newfound knowledge, connections, and a clearer path toward their dream careers. The Dawoodi Bohra community remains committed to providing such opportunities to help unlock the potential of future leaders.
